Dawn Altman

Speech Language Pathologist

Dawn is a 1992 graduate of California University of PA with a Bachelor of Science degree in education and a 1994 graduate from California University of PA with a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Dawn holds the Certificate for Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech-Hearing Association (ASHA). Dawn is currently licensed with the Commonwealth of PA for Speech-Language Pathology and has held her license since January 1995. She also actively participates in Continuing Education courses demonstrating her commitment to her career and patient care.

Dawn has over 22 years experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist and Rehabilitative Director overseeing a multi-disciplinary team of Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapists in a nursing home setting. Her areas of expertise have been in treating a variety of deficits in the geriatric population including speech, language, cognitive communication, oral, feeding, swallowing skills, communication problems (articulation, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language disorders). Dawn is also a registered Vital Stim Therapy provider since 2006. Dawn’s extensive experience working with a multi-disciplinary team of therapists makes her a valuable team member to work with children and their families to provide a model in improving outcomes for continued development.
